Based in London, I have experience working on comms strategies for charities, startups, governments and private enterprises.
I am currently the Media & PR Officer at the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, where I am responsible for our media coverage on campaigns across the globe.
Prior to this, I worked in the communications team at Asia House, a think tank based in central London. As Communications Officer, I was responsible for the organisation's social media management, content creation, video strategy and web design. I was also involved in marketing the annual Asia House Literature Festival and Global Trade Dialogue series.
I have also done communications work for the Foyer Federation, the International School of London, the United Nations Association UK, the Indonesian Embassy in London, News-Decoder, Asia Literary Agency and others.
Before going into the communications sector, I trained and worked as a journalist, with bylines in Al Jazeera, the International Business Times UK, The Diplomat and others. My reporting focused on international development and human rights issues in Asia, including in-depth features on acid attacks in New Delhi, the stigma of disability in Japan, and diasporas influencing elections from abroad. I have also appeared on BBC radio stations to be interviewed about my work as a journalist.
In 2018 I produced a feature length documentary, Caste Aside, which looked at the issue of caste discrimination among the British-Indian population and whether the UK needs legal remedy. The documentary was screened across the country, alongside community debates on the issue, as well as in India, Canada and Germany.
In my spare time, I run the Instagram page @PrisReads, which shines a light on literature and authors from across Asia and its diaspora.
